Invisalign® is an innovative orthodontic system used to treat crooked and crowded teeth in adults and/or older teens. This modern take on braces features a system of clear aligner trays that are worn at all times except during meals and when brushing or flossing. The Invisalign® trays are custom fitted to your teeth, making them virtually unnoticeable even when laughing, or talking with other people.
Patients receive a sequence of trays, each of which is slightly different than the one before. The aligners provide a slight resistance to the teeth, forcing them to move into alignment over time. Here’s a basic overview of the process and what to expect during your Invisalign treatment:
Step 1: Initial Consultation
The process begins with an initial consultation with Dr. C. You will meet and only speak with Dr. C and she will do a 5D digital scan of your smile with our brand-new iTero digital scanner. Once complete she will sit down with you and go over your smile and discuss everything with you.
Step 2: Treatment Plan of Action
Dr. C will develop a customized treatment plan tailored to your specific needs. She will provide you with a full digital smile simulation of your treatment from start to finish. This allows you to actually visualize your smile before even starting treatment. She will go over this in detail with you and explain everything step-by-step.
Step 3: Start Treatment
Once you approve the treatment your smile journey begins. Dr. C will request and approve custom aligner trays for your treatment. Each Invisalign tray will typically be worn for 1-2 weeks before moving on to the next set based on Dr. C’s recommendations. It is crucial that you wear your Invisalign aligners for 20-22 hours per day, removing them only for eating, drinking (except water), brushing, and flossing.
Step 4: Treatment Complete
Once you and Dr. C are 100% happy with your smile results the final process can begin. After completing Invisalign treatment, we provide you with a Teeth Cleaning, Professional Teeth Whitening, and all the Retainers (Permanent Retainers or Removable Retainers) you need to maintain your brand-new smile and prevent teeth from shifting back to their original position.
